Re-Entry Program

When the release date comes, and the key is turned, and you walk out those gates, a new life begins. However, closed and locked doors also await you on the outside when you have a criminal record: doors to jobs, housing, and more. You need a “key” to open those doors and get a new life.

CMNRP is an information referral service for ex-offenders. We understand the special challenges that come with being an ex-offender. We will provide a list of community support that is available in the area you are returning to.

If you tell us what your needs are, we’ll try to find a resource that can help. We handle each case individually to try to surround you with a circle of support for your new life. Use this pre-release planning guide to organize your thoughts, then fill out all necessary informational forms that will help us understand your direct needs, that will help you in your transition back into the community.

Know your most basic needs
• Proper Identification (State ID, Birth Certificate, Social Security)
• Transportation
• Housing/Shelter
• Food/Clothing
• Employment

Take Action!

There are several steps you can take while still incarcerated to prepare yourself for a smoother transition:
• Take advantage of educational, treatment, and transitional programs you qualify for.
• Attend any transition fairs that are offered.
• Create a resume for employment
• Apply for a social security card, (you need one to work!)     
• Get your birth certificate.
• Resolve DWI issues and plan for transportation.

My name is Trevor and I have gone to CMNRP in St. Cloud for support and resources that I was in need of. I was homeless even though I had a full-time job and needed support and resources so I could become stable and an active contributing member of society. I was in a terrible situation and refused to move my family into a place where there is alcohol and drug activity.

I'm writing this to let others know that CMNRP will help as long as you are willing to help yourself. CMNRP helped me to find housing in a safe environment for me to move my family and myself into.
